As we settle into June, I feel so happy to be back in my favorite season. Summer me is a happy me.
Sitting on the porch during a rain shower, making late night runs to TCBY with Aaron, watching the water sparkle in the sun, feeling the sun warm my skin — these things make me come alive.
In summer, my style gets infused with an extra dose of casual. I love taking classic elements, like trousers and a button down, and pairing them with more casual elements, like Birkenstocks and a simple canvas tote.
For this look, I started with my favorite trousers and a crop top. Next, I added Birkenstocks because they are just so wonderfully comfortable and give off such a mellow vibe. And I finished the look with a lightweight poplin shirt that keeps things cool — it’s the perfect third piece to add a bit of interest and dimension to an outfit, while still being hot weather friendly.

These pants! I feel they will be a purchase!
I live in California but am traveling right now and this is what the street style looks like right now in Oslo – except with a longer tank and often New Balance type of sneakers because it’s not that hot yet. I love the mix of tailoring and casual, and wearing black in the summer.
