I don’t mind simple, basic, or “boring” outfits — in fact I usually like them best.
The look may be basic, but there are little style details here and there. Like the contrast of the oversized sweatshirt with the shorts just peeking out underneath. The ribbed socks. The silver hoops and necklace, which are quickly becoming everyday favs. Plus the ball cap, which adds a bit of color to the look. Don’t you love that shade of green? I’m really getting into little touches of green and blue in my mostly neutral wardrobe, and it’s a nice refresh.
Overall, it’s a simple outfit, but one I love to wear.

Thanks for being here!
I really appreciate this post! Sometimes life calls for basic, simple, unfancy clothing. We live on a homestead and many days it doesn’t make sense to wear my nicer outfits because of sweat, mud, manure, saw dust, etc. I’m not quite sure why it hadn’t dawned on me till more recently that I can dress appropriately for my lifestyle and daily chores yet still be put together in a casual way so I can still feel confident running errands or if company comes by. I’ve been making room for more athleisure attire in my wardrobe, and I feel good about that. :)
You have such great style, anyway, and such a centered presence–but that necklace! 😍 I have noticed it in all three of your posts so far, and it is just the right amount of shine and presence without insisting on itself. Classy and low-key sophisticated!
You are nailing just the right looks for this relaxed-ish, post-pandemic-ish, maybe-tired-of-sweats/joggers-but-not-ready-to-go-all-the-way-back-into-hard-pants, the-world-is-sad-and-scary-but-I-still-want-to-look-nice time. Thank you for what you do.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. Your kind words are so encouraging to me! Thank you. <3 (And yes, that necklace really is all that!)
Rock on, Caroline! :) <3
Love this look! Comfy for around the house but still put together. I’m trying to perfect that being a stay at home mom who wants to be cozy but still enjoys fashion.
I just want to thank you for posting again. I love the outfits, of course, but this space is so peaceful, creative, and lovely. As are you. So glad you are back.
Hi Ally! Thank you for your kind words — they mean so much to me. <3
Love how cozy this is! What is the sizing like for the sweatshirt?
Hi Sarah! So, they’ve changed the sizing since I bought it. It used to come in just three sizes (1,2,3) and I’m wearing a 2. I recently was in an Aritzia store though and tried on their new sizing — a M or L fits similarly to the way mine does in the photos. I hope that helps!
