Even with the zest and glow of spring, sometimes there’s nothing better than wearing all black. It’s just what I crave sometimes, no matter the season.
This hoodie was sold out in my size, so I sized up to a M, hoping it might shrink a bit in the wash. Well, it didn’t shrink as much as I’d hoped, but it turns out, I love how voluminous and dramatic the sleeves are. It turns a basic hoodie into something a little more interesting. Since I’m generally drawn to simple garments, I always like to look for those little variations in fit and silhouette to liven things up a bit. Plus the drawstring allows for a flexible fit.
My love of bike shorts is still going strong. I love that they are the perfect counterpart to baggy tops, but I also think my fondness for them comes from my early childhood — so many of my outfits back then consisted of bike shorts and a baggy tee. My favorite was a matching set — the bike shorts were magenta and the top had a big sunflower painted on it. It gives me the warm fuzzies just thinking back on that outfit, and I love bringing a piece of my past into my style now, in a new way.
