This outfit is basically pajamas. I should know because I’m currently sitting in bed typing, and what am I wearing? This. (Sans shoes and bag and all the styling details, of course.)
When I decide I’m in the mood to wear pajamas as Real Clothes, I go for a statement bag. Something structured, definitely. Something colorful, even better. I’m convinced that sweats and a fancy, structured little bag are a match made in heaven. I’m SO into this bright little bag! I really did not think I would be as enamored as I am. But it’s the perfect counterbalance to my super casual style.

I love your style! I love the idea of a little colorful bag! But – and I say this with the hope it does not come off the wrong way – I…do not love that specific bag, as it is giving me Forever 21 sale vibes, and not in a fun way as much as the cheap way (the texture; the handles; the shape/size/combo; combine it with the day-glo hue, and I’m really trying hard to understand the appeal…) Can you relate in more detail what it is about this specific bag that does it for you, vs the general idea of a small colorful bag?
Hi Rachel! Of course! When I first got the bag, I was like “Whoa, whoa, whoa.” Haha. Definitely lots going on, with the bright color, croc texture, multiple skinny straps, etc. But I fell in love with the kitsch of it. I like that it’s playful, garish, and almost artificial because it’s such a stark contrast to my style that’s more minimal, chic, and natural — and to me, style is all about playing with contrasts. Sometimes my style can lean a little serious and a bag like this injects a little humor and life. It’s like the bag equivalent of a wink. That’s just me! I totally get what you’re saying. Hopefully that explains it a bit. :)
