I ended up getting those Adidas Forums I shared in Friday’s post and I LOVE them. The color is spot on. Off-white, not yellowish. And that grey has a sage green tint to it, which is exactly what I’d hoped. I’m so happy with them!
Sizing: My typical shoe size is somewhere between a 7 and 7.5. I’m usually a 7 in Adidas. I got a 7.5 in these because I wanted a little extra room. I’d still say they run true to size, because a 7 would have fit. I just have a thing about giving my toes a little extra room.
This blazer is a winner at under $60. I’ve had mine for 2+ years, and my favorite thing about it is the gathered sleeve detail. I love that casual, sleeves-rolled-up look and it’s nice that this blazer actually does the work for you — no more pushing up sleeves all the time.
The lighter palette of this outfit gives me early spring vibes and I’m not mad about it. We had one day over the weekend that felt like spring and I spent the afternoon on the patio sipping iced tea in the sunshine. Medicine to my soul.
We’ll be back to cold weather again later this week, and I plan to continue reading Wintering by Katherine May. Have you read it? It’s one to savor. It’s helping me stay present with winter and enjoy this season.

Hi Caroline!
Question for you- I got the Polene bag and I have to say it is so pretty, but I’m a little disappointed with its functionality. The leather is stiff and I find it hard to pull things in and out bc the opening is so slim. Thoughts?
Hi Kaity! I felt similar when I first got it too — that slim opening really threw me at first. Here’s what I did:
First of all, I found it really helps to open the bag by flipping the top panels up and out from the center. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve done this so much over the course of using my bag, but mine will stay open in this position on its own, making it convenient to get things in and out. It disrupts the shape of the bag, but it makes everything so much more accessible. Then I’ll just flip the top panels back down to close the bag. I never actually use the zipper.
Since the bag is small, some simple swaps helped a lot — switching my wallet for a card case, taking my big keychain off my keys, etc.
Another swap I made was using a large makeup bag. This one seems counterintuitive, but it really cuts down on the amount of things floating around in the bag, thus making it easier to find/grab my keys, phone, or wallet. The makeup bag has a flat bottom and sits in the bag like a divider, which also helps the overall organization of the bag. I never pull out the makeup bag — I just open it up and get what I need.
I hope this helps a little! I’ve been carrying mine for well over a year now, and it’s still one of my favorite bags to carry. <3
Just ordered the blazer! So cute.
Hope you love it, Erica! That gathered sleeve detail is everything.
Late to this, but I read WINTERING two years ago when it first came out and LOVED it. It changed the game for me regarding winter and my own “winters.” She has a new book coming out this month and I’m really looking forward to savoring it. So glad you are posting more!
I’m SO excited about her new book too, Ally! Can’t wait to read it next!
