It’s time we get back to regularly scheduled outfit posts, don’t you think?
This was supposed to happen much sooner, and I don’t want to bore you with my mid-30’s sobbing, so I’ll just say a profoundly unfortunate back injury put me a couple months behind. Ah, age, you devious sneak.
I’m still trying get out from under that lovely, mellow spell of sweatpants, so how about we ease back into things with the chillest of outfits.
This look starts off basic enough with cozy flare leggings and a crop sweatshirt.
But then! Put a big boxy coat on top and damn! It’s chic!
Pure monochromatic winter chic.
Big coats = big style so it really doesn’t matter if you’re wearing full sweats underneath. You still get style points. It’s the best part about winter style.
Onto footwear, I chose Converse high-tops for this look. Notice how the split front flare gives you a glimpse of the black and white lacing. Details!
And then I finished the whole thing off with a plain ball cap. Which I am obsessed with. Aaron and I were looking through old photos of us the other day and there were way too many where I was wearing a ball cap. This ever-present staple in my personal style is having a trendy moment too, so that’s fun.
I also have to take a moment to talk about this bag. Polene went and made my dream bag. Not too big. Not too small. Reminiscent of a 90’s baguette bag without hitting the trend on the nose, making it timeless. And IT ZIPS. So that’s the LAST time I shatter my phone screen because it fell out of my BAG THAT DOESN’T ZIP. One can hope.
