… here’s a regular outfit for you.
I’m not really a dress-up-for-Halloween kinda girl, but this year Aaron and I made big plans to don costumes + get our party on tonight.
Yeah! Oh wait. On second thought … why don’t we just stay in + put on PJs + have some wine + make out?
DONE and DONE.
Life is good.
Anyway … it’s layering weather in Austin again! Layering weather is my ultimate all-time favorite — the air is all brisk + cool, but the sun is bright + warm. I want to soak in every second of it while it lasts.
How do you make the most of beautiful weather? And what are you up to this Halloween night?

Hey, and don’t forget! Tomorrow is the last day to apply to be a guest blogger on Unfancy. (I think somewhere I accidentally misspoke and said the last day was today — it’s actually tomorrow, yay.)

I have a swim meet tomorrow, so I won’t be staying up tonight to do anything festive. Well, I’m just using my swim meet as an excuse, though it is a valid one. I think I’ll probably just stay in my dorm tonight wrapped up in blankets eating candy, watching movies/TV shows, and reading books and blogs! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
we’ve got trick-or-treating and monster-mashing in our plans for this evening (i’ll probably swipe a bite-sized treat or two from the little’s bag when he isn’t looking too. hehehe!) happy halloween and enjoy the cozy night in with your beau!
I am SO glad I am not the only one with plans for Halloween that have been overshadowed by the want to stay in. I had a Mary Poppins outfit all picked out and had great plans for the night. But I am telling ya, a pair of JCrew sweatpants came in the mail last night that I have been waiting for and they just sound so much better than wearing a skirt and blouse with heels and red lipstick. I can wear it to work on Monday, maybe :)
Enjoy your night! LOVING your Madewell top. They are one of my favorite shops ever.

I am so not a dress-up-for-Halloween person. I didn’t even love it as a kid – it just felt like something we had to do :)
It is raining like crazy here, so I am happy to be the one who stays home and hands out candy while the hubby takes the girls out around the neighborhood. I’m hoping this is the year we’ll get at least one trick or treater. Seriously.
I’ve been curious about your weather – my Texas friends on Instagram seem to be still wearing sandals and summery stuff! It’s full-on fall here.
Your plans sound like my plans. Passing out a little bit of candy to the wee ones in the neighborhood, and then it’s wine/Hocus Pocus time. Love the outfit! =)
I just recently found you blog and I absolutely love the concept of a capsule wardrobe. I have such a struggle figuring out what to wear, being guilty of always buying statement pieces. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey there Caroline!
Question: “Winter”/holiday catalogues have just come out from all my favorite clothing retailers…is now the time when you begin shopping for your winter pieces? (You mentioned at the first two weeks of the season.)
Related, I also wondered why at the *beginning* of a season (is this decision based on availability of product? If it is availability, what about the mid-season roll outs with new offerings within a single season? (Like mid-winter)?
Sorry for all the questions! I am just SO intrigued and started my first capsule this Fall :) Wonderful blog, thanks for sharing!
