I was your classic case of, I hate my hair, it won’t do anything, wahwoh. I really wanted to start wearing the middle part but, Guys, my hair just won’t do it. Same excuse with a top knot. I have super thin hair + a crazy cowlick with a mind of it’s own. So I wore my hair the same way from high school on.
UNTIL. About 6 months ago, I tried my hair in a center part. My husband went nuts–he loved it. When I looked in the mirror, I thought it looked super weird, but that’s just because I wasn’t used to seeing it. But I set that aside and wore it occasionally to get somethin’ extra. ;)
And pretty soon, it looked normal to me. I loved it. Same story with the top knot.
To you, it probably looks totally normal. But it wasn’t my normal for the longest time. And now I’m just like, Why did I wait so long to try this?!
So all that to say, if you’re like, Yeah…my hair just doesn’t DO that I think you should try it anyway. Just remember the cycle: At first you’ll protest with excuses. Then you’ll try it and think it looks weird. And then finally, you’ll kinda fall in love with it.

I have the EXACT same hair. Super thin (although I’m told by many hair dressers that I have tons of individual strands), straight, won’t do anything, even with tons of product and blow drying upside down. I’ve also started parting my hair in the middle… my sister and I called it the “butt crack” part in high school. Ha! I actually kind of love it now, though!
As always, love the blog, and you look great! :)
Hi! I was wondering, what did you do with all the rest of your clothes when you started a capsule wardrobe? Did you keep them or did you donate them? Was it stressful to choose wich items to keep, or did you just started a new wardrobe all over again?? Thank you very much, I really like your blog! Have a nice day!!
I totally have the same issue!! Mainly with the top bun. I always want to pull it off, but when I try I feel like I look like a sad 5 year old ballerina whose dad did their hair that morning. You look adorable with them! I always admire yours. Perhaps I should keep doing it until I get used to it :)
Ahh, I have this shirt too;) Style twins, perhaps? Another great look, Caroline!
Hey, I can’t find your blog on bloglovin to follow. How can I follow Unfancy?
