Capsule #2 // Outfit 13
This is an outfit I’d wear to a client meeting, or maybe a networking lunch. Networking sounds so cold and formal, so let’s switch that to friendship lunch. Much better. In my other life, when I’m not blogging here, I’m a photographer. I’ve been a photographer for 7 years now and it’s unbelievably rewarding + challenging + inspiring. And you know what makes it even better? My husband shoots with me. In fact, he’s the talent behind all the photos you see here on the blog. He’s pretty good, huh? :)
So for those of you on this capsule wardrobe journey–How are you liking it? Is it easier to get dressed in the mornings? I’m so curious! Sound off in the comments.

Love your site & the concept behind it! Having a capsule wardrobe has given me so much more confidence and peace this past year. Rather than chasing every trend or that ever-elusive perfect closet, having a closet full of pieces I know mix+match & make me feel good makes getting dressed in the morning a fun challenge instead of an overwhelming chore. Finding your site made me encouraged that I could get even more organized about it if I wanted to. Having a plan=more freedom than flying by the seat of my pants (a lesson I may never fully learn) :)
I’d love to see a round-up at the end of this capsule to see what the pieces were that you started with and then all the outfits you created.
Hi Meg! Thanks for your kind words! I’m definitely planning to share all the pieces in my capsule wardrobe soon. :) xoxo Caroline
After I cleaned out my closet and listed everything, I found figuring out what to buy next for the season has been way easier. Took a couple donating/ shopping trips and found I was thinking more critically about what was really going to work. And once everything truly mixes and matches it is WAY easier and more fun to get dressed.
I love your combination of blues…so pretty!
I have just startes my capsule wardrobe and I find it to be so much easier to get dressed in the morning. I feel so much lighter with fewer pieces of clothing in my wardrobe. I have started a blog to keep myself accountable to continue with the challenge, and to prevent the urge to continue shopping for clothes. The blog is in Swedish, but you are welcome to look at it. http://leancloset.blogspot.se/
This is seriously gold! Thank you so much for writing about this. There are so many fashion blogs that I would look through to figure out what I want but they’re just so unrealistic. I don’t have the money and if I did, I don’t want to spend it on tons and tons of clothes. So, your blog has helped me to not feel that pressure. Thank you :)
Radom question!! I own this skirt and I need a tip…how do you wear a tucked in shirt (like your button up denim) and it not show under the skirt? Am I missing a trick? Mine always bunches and shows the lines and what not, especially in the back/behind area ;-) thanks for everything!!!!!
