Capsule #3 / Outfit 28
I love the idea of colorful, patterned boho style — but let’s be real, this girl loves her neutrals. So what do I do? I layer up the boho elements in all white. That knit vest + that crochet top + that tassel necklace. Boom — I’ve got myself a boho outfit that’s been totally translated into my style.
This is a great summer-to-fall transitional outfit. It looks fall-ish, but the open toe shoes + sleeveless tops will keep me cool in the heat.
Right now, it’s mostly reserved for fun dinners out at night because it’s still too hot to wear skinny jeans outside in the middle of the day. But I also consider this one of my “professional creative” outfits, so I would definitely also wear it on days when I’m going to be indoors in meetings + air conditioning.
Top: Zara (similar or similar)
Vest: Urban Outfitters (similar or similar)
Bottoms: Gap
Shoes: Steve Madden (similar at Target for $30!)
Necklace: Anthropologie (similar)
I like this outfit a lot. Neutrals are where it’s at.
I know everyone comments about your hair, but really, could it get any more perfect? (don’t answer that, because if it can, I don’t want to know).
I love the effortlessly cool feel of this look, it’s perfect.

love this outfit!
Hi Caroline!
I just wanted you to know that I GULPED your blog in one sitting and now I want to reimagine my life, let alone my wardrobe :) But I’d have to start with the wardrobe probably.
I am very curious to see your autumn/winter items. When I see some of the winter outfits on Pinterest I almost laugh out loud because where I live parka + fur hat would be the sanest choises. Well, definitely not a sweater + ankle high boots or something like that. It may be pretty, but when it’s freezing cold it’s hard to care about pretty. So yeah, I cannot imagine how one could have stylish wardrobe in a cold climate. Or in a really day-after-day-drizzling-rainy one.
Also, here’s an idea. You can have a post about how to pick undergarments. I think there is the same problem – you can have this really fancy (and expensive!) underwear which you almost never wear, instead you would wear this one bra you know is really comfy. Or maybe it’s just me. Dunno.
Anyway, loved reading your blog, cannot wait for more!
Ditto! I live in 5-months-of-sub-zero-temperatures land (aka the great white North) and it is challenging. I think Caroline lives in Austin – aren’t their winters pretty mild? I’m still curious to see the fall/winter capsules though :)
Hi Tatiana!
Thank you so much for your awesome comment! :)
Austin winters are pretty mild, but I have to admit that I’m totally a wimp when it comes to cool/cold weather. So I think my fall + winter capsule will be full of parkas + fur hats (or something like that). I would much rather be warm than look cute. :) But I have some fun ideas for pulling off dead-of-winter clothes and making them cute…ish. :)
I LOVE your idea about picking undergarments. Consider it done. :)

Perfect transition-y outfit – perfect for September days where it’s still hot out but doesn’t feel like summer, yanno? Also, I love the white on white.
I would love to know what fashion/style blogs you like and read. Or any favorite blogs, really!

Hi Caroline! :-)
I have never followed any blogs before I red your. You are a genious! I also loooove the bohemian style but too many colours does not look good on me. But I will deffinetely try out your version – by layering bohemian feel pieces but in the same neutral colour palette.
Also thank you so much for your step by step on how to create outfits and which thoughts you have about each.
