Capsule #3 / Outfit 51
This outfit is fancy-time. Heels and a dress? Who am I? :)
We officially had our first cold front in Austin this weekend! Or … I guess I should say “cool” front. Because you guys would all laugh at me if I called 65°F cold.
I forgot what cool weather felt like — and turns out, it is amazing. How heavenly is this whole change of seasons thing? As soon as the front hit, hubby and I piled into the car and bought a pumpkin candle.
Today, the weather is warm again. But I’m excited — fall is coming.

It has been in the low 60’s and even 50’s during the day in Michigan! It feels so nice :) My husband and I think it is perfect weather for long walks. I’m going through my clothes today to begin creating my first capsule!
Is there a place on your blog that shows all the outfits posted from each capsule? It would be helpful to be able to see all the outfits from your summer capsule, for example, in one place. As a new reader working on making my whole closet smaller and more workable, this would be so helpful to me to get new ideas!!
Hi Kayla!

There really is something so special about the change of seasons, especially going to a colder one. I am always a fan of being really comfy and cozy, so fall is a great time for me because I get to start layering with cozy knits. We’ve had a bit of a cold spell as well in Montreal lately. Lots of people are complaining, but not this gal!
Love this look and I think you could easily bring it even more into fall by adding layers. Can’t wait to see more sneak peaks from your fall wardrobe!

The change into fall season is really my favorite, the minute it hit 60s here I busted out my fall wardrobe and started making allll the fall foods.
Adding: I always feel fancy pants in my maxi. I’ve started dressing it down by tying a chambray shirt over top, which also helps it transition to cooler days.
I love your dress, it seems perfect for the weather tight now and you bag is adorable!

So I’ve always seen a maxi dress and maxi skirts as a summer thing. Any opinions on whether it’s “ok” to wear them for fall, with boots/jacket etc? Especially in jersey or those slinky kind of fabrics, rather than light cotton?
I got to wear scarves this week. Twice. And I got butterflies in my stomach, too, for fall!!
That dress is absolutely beautiful! The heels and ballerina bun complement it so well :)

Hi Caroline, what’s the colour of the booties you have on? Tan or nude? Which one would you think will be more versatile?
