Outfits: Summer, summer outfits

white dress + black chunky heels

Capsule #3 / Outfit 33

capsule-wardrobe-blog-2028capsule-wardrobe-blog-2025  capsule-wardrobe-blog-2027

Want to feel feminine AND edgy at the same time? Here’s your recipe:

White dress + heavy black heels.

Another cool thing about this outfit? It can be a summer-to-fall transition outfit. Swap the sleeveless dress for one with long sleeves, swap the shoes for black ankle booties, and you’ve got an outfit that’s pure awesome.

Want some more white dress + black shoes inspo? I made a Pinterest board just for you!

Dress: Banana Republic (similar)

Necklace: Anthropologie (similar)

Bag: Marc Jacobs (similar for less)

Shoes: Dolce Vita

Really digging the simplicity of this look, but how put together and fancy it can be! Great inspiration.

Hi Caroline, I have some questions about the capsule closet- I just discovered your blog and would love to start doing so now! But should I wait until the next season? How do I go about starting towards the end of a season?

I love this. I have a white fit and flare dress that I’ve been trying to figure out how to style. Thanks for linking that similar Mango ban. I have been wanting that Mini Natasha, but with a new baby, I can’t justify it right now! I can do $40, though. :)

I just adore you! Thank you so much for doing this whole capsule wardrobe project. It has seriously changed the way I think about fashion. I scaled down my wardrobe for summer about a week ago and now I am currently using your wardrobe planner to get ready for fall (our fall starts a bit earlier than yours). I also got my good friend hooked on your blog and she is starting a capsule wardrobe too! Its so fun to share this with her!

Would you mind if I documented it on my blog as well? I’m just starting out but I would love to share this way of fashion but with my style and even my friends! Of course all credit will go back to you and your amazing blog!

    Thanks again!

    Sarah

Fabulous sandals, dear Caroline!! P.S. I’m getting more and more inspired to start a “capsule wardrobe” of my own…the way you create maximum outfit combinations with minimum pieces is incredibly appealing!! But how do you deal with the “itch” to add something new when it’s not yet time to switch seasons?? I don’t know about you, but I’m a firm believer in year-round retail therapy!!

    Caroline,

I found your blog through Jill GG’s blog Good Life for Less! I am devouring every post and taking note!! Love this outfit post – I wore a very similar combo to church this past sunday – a white cotton dress from the GAP and chunky black heeled sandals from VInce Camuto. If you haven’t checked this label out you should – its similar to Dolce Vita!
