I’ve been so excited to post an outfit with these crazy heels because they’re … unexpected to say the least. I wasn’t so sure about them at first. After all, this blog is called UNfancy, and well, they seem a little fancy to me. But as my super neutral wardrobe came together, I knew I needed to throw a wild card in the mix. I also knew I had a few nicer events to dress for this summer so … yellow heels it is!

I originally bought these heels last year for a trip to New York City. It was my first time to go — my husband + our dear couple friends went together as a last hurrah before they moved states away. My all time favorite memory was when we decided to go to the top of the Empire State Building … as a storm was rolling in. First of all — NO ONE in line, so it took us all of 8 minutes to get up there. Second of all — STORMS are maybe the most thrilling thing in the world to me, so I was super energized to get to watch one roll in from up there.

Anyway, I’d wear this outfit to a nice dinner. And I’d definitely wear it to a client meeting. I’d even wear it to an city-chic wedding. I kind of love everything about it.

I love your philosophy about throwing a bright wild card into your basic capsule wardrobe. In fact, I wrote about something similar in a post earlier this week. Sometimes it is those risky pieces that we almost talk ourselves out of that turn out to be the most inspiring. This look is polished and fun. I like it;)
