Aaron and I are heading to the beach next week for my birthday, and I’m so excited for some sunshine!
While preparing for the trip, I went on a quest to find the perfect neutral, one-piece swimsuit. I’ve always loved the idea of pairing vintage denim shorts with a classic white or terra-cotta one-piece. And, well, after finding several winners, I think that’s exactly what I’m going to wear every day on our vacation. :)
Anyway, I’ll be sharing my full beach packing list with you soon, but in the meantime, I’ve done plenty of swimsuit browsing the last few weeks leading up to our trip, and I wanted to share my favorites with you.
Here are 11 neutral, one-piece suits that get my stamp of approval:
If you see something you like, you can shop it and support my blog at the same time by using the affiliate links below.
1 | Daisy Suit by Madewell (conscious, under $80) | I love that Madewell is now making swimsuits from recycled plastic. First fair trade denim, then a fair trade factory, now recycled plastic swimsuits — go Madewell go!
2 | Tulum Ribbed Suit by Andie | I’ve always wanted a simple, cross back swimsuit like this — but you know how sometimes the simplest designs are hard to find? Not anymore — I was THRILLED to find this one. A couple of quick fit/color notes: It looks white in the photo, but it’s actually more of a ballet pink. Very flattering and still gives off a white swimsuit vibe without being as stark as pure white. It’s lined generously, and has extra support thanks to a shelf bra with light, removable padding. I ordered a small and it fit right on. (Here are my measurements: 5ft 5in, B:32, W:25 H:36)
3 | Polka Dot Suit by And Other Stories (under $50)
4 | Dusk Leaf Suit by Zulu and Zephyr | This print is what my summer swimsuit dreams are made of!
5 | Anne-Marie Suit by Solid and Striped | I surprised myself with this one — I didn’t think I was into the bold stripe thing happening on so many swimsuits right now. But I kept coming back to it. That white and rust color palette got me.
6 | Warm Paisley Suit by Madewell (under $50)
7 | Criss Cross Suit by Madewell (conscious, under $70) | This one might be a good option for anyone with a very long torso — I tried it on in a Small and it was quite a bit too long, even though I consider myself to have a slightly longer than average torso. Plus it’s got that stunning cross back that I love.
8 | Emma Snakeskin Suit by Mara Hoffman (conscious)
9 | Anne-Marie Ruched Suit by Solid and Striped | I’ve always dreamt of a white one-piece, but finding one that isn’t see-through is tough. So I was excited when I found this one with plenty of texture — it’s ruched all over.
10 | Edie Suit by Vitamin A (conscious)| I’ve been a fan of Vitamin A for a long time now. They were the first eco-friendly swimwear brand I found. Their swimsuits are super cheeky, but their bottoms are some of the most flattering I’ve ever found. I wear a 6/S in their suits.
11 | Ribbed Suit by And Other Stories (under $70)

And there you have it!
Now it’s your turn! Are you into one-pieces? Two-pieces? Both? What’s on your ideal swimsuit checklist? If you’ve found one that ticks all your boxes, feel free to link it in the comments — I’d love to see what’s working for you!
xo,
What a fabulous color palette! You always find such rich, yet subtle ways to make your own style. We may have to “borrow” this idea and do a color board for an interior design client!
I’m definitely a one piece girl. Love anything with polka dots!
One piece! The best one that I found Is the sidestroke by summersalt. So flattering even postpartum!
I really love my Deirdre from Nettle’s Tale! I have it in two colours and it is super comfy and lovely :)
I have this one from Seafolly: https://poshmark.com/listing/Seafolly-Retro-Suimsuit-in-Emerald-Green-sz-6-5943410799086ab12e011a8a
Love that it is ruched so it hides a not-flat stomach a bit, and the retro 50’s look with the boyleg make you feel a bit more covered up. The color in the photo does not do it justice, it is a beautiful, deep emerald green. Have not worn it as a top with shorts, but I think it would look great.
I have a super long torso and have a really hard time finding one pieces that fit right. They tend to pull in the crotch and really squish my already small chest. Two pieces for me all the way. These are all really pretty though!
I have the same problem!
Sadly my swimsuits are always dictated by what has bust support, instead of what I’d ideally get. And it’s hard to find prints I like in the DD+ section, so usually I’m just picking the best option I can find. But I love these neturals and maybe I can find something similar this year.
Hi! I love the styles, patterns and quality at Albion Fit! I have an older one, but have been eyeing this website as I dream of summer days.
